Greetings. I hope you and yours are thriving right now. I’m launching three new podcasts for clients this month and I wanted to share 3 things new podcasts needs to consider when starting a show.
1. Your Brand
Your brand is the face of your podcast, business or project. It’s what people perceive when they see your post, e-mail, video, or digital product. It’s more than a logo, or a name. It’s the personality that’s conveyed and the values that make up your listener’s or customer’s experience.
Here’s a few of simple things you can do to strengthen your brand.

Define your values. This will help you create your content as well and will provide a cohesive experience for your listeners.

Define your ideal listener or client. Who are they? What do they want? Where are they struggling? The more you can get in the head of your ideal listeners, client, or customer, the more you can speak directly to them.

Consistency. Your logo, your social media posts, your e-mails, your website. Everything should have a consistent visual feel to it so your audience knows it’s you and can trust in what is being shared with them.
2. Creating Valuable and Relevant Content
Hands down your content is the most important thing to be focusing on. Even if your audio quality isn’t great, if you are having a riveting conversation or telling an impactful and inspiring story, you can retain listeners. Focus on this before trying to build the most incredible podcast recording studio in the world. Bring your brand values and your customer’s struggles into your content. Brainstorm categories that you love to speak about, these will become your main content pillars. Be real, authentic, be YOU.
3. Guests and Networking
The best, fastest, easiest way to grow your podcast fast is through having guests and being a guest on someone else’s show. This is a fantastic way to accelerate your success. Not all podcasts are interview format, and that’s ok, think how you could leverage a special guest/co-host on some episodes, how you could create content for another persons channel/show. Leveraging your network is a vital part of success in podcasting. Listen to your favorite podcasts, and create a spreadsheet of all the guests that are interviewing, while some may be out of reach for now, you would be surprised how many are willing to share their time, even with new podcasts.
